Through practical learning and individual coaching, this program helps you:
You’ll receive six one-hour individual coaching sessions to connect what you’re learning with your own workplace challenges and professional goals. Ask questions, explore situations you’re dealing with and get guidance on practical next steps. This dedicated time helps you move beyond understanding the concepts to deciding how to use them in your work.
You can spend the day chasing updates and resolving individual issues without getting enough time to consider whether the project is still on course. Develop the ability to connect the agreed outcome with the plans, people and decisions needed to deliver it. For emerging project leaders, this helps you prepare for wider responsibility. For current managers, it strengthens your ability to recognise where intervention is needed and explain what should happen next.
A request for additional work becomes harder to manage when people never agreed on what was included. Learn to turn stakeholder expectations into defined deliverables and project boundaries. When a new request arrives, assess its effect on existing commitments and bring forward options for an informed decision. This helps you remain constructive without quietly accepting work the project has neither the time nor resources to deliver.
A completion date is difficult to defend when the activities, dependencies and available capacity behind it are unclear. Develop your ability to build schedules that account for how the work will actually happen. Recognise when a delayed approval, unavailable specialist or changing requirement affects the remaining plan, then explain realistic responses. Give people a useful basis for deciding what needs to change.
When funding becomes tight or delivery falls behind, a quick saving can create rework or leave people with a result they cannot use. Strengthen your ability to understand what the project still needs to spend and which quality requirements must be met. Assess the consequences of proposed changes while there is time to consider them, so decisions account for both the resources available and the result the organisation needs.
Recognising a concern does not mean the project is ready to respond. Learn to assess which uncertainties need attention, agree who will manage them and identify the warning signs that action is required. Develop recommendations that explain the consequences, available responses and decisions needed. This helps you address developing risks before they become urgent problems with fewer workable options.
Your project may depend on people who report to different managers, divide their time across several commitments or expect different things from the outcome. Develop your approach to agreeing contributions, working through differences and keeping responsibilities visible. Connect stakeholder engagement, team leadership and supplier management so delivery relies on understood commitments and follow-through across the people involved.
Taking responsibility for a project brings decisions that may not have belonged to you before. This program helps you prepare for those expectations while giving experienced project leaders an opportunity to examine established habits and recurring difficulties. Your development stays connected to the projects you lead now and the responsibility you are moving towards, including the recommendations you need to make and the conversations you need to handle well.
This program suits project coordinators, experienced team members preparing to lead delivery and current project leaders or managers who want to strengthen their capability across the project lifecycle.
It is particularly relevant when your responsibilities extend beyond completing individual tasks to coordinating other people, managing stakeholder expectations or explaining project performance.

The learning can be considered in the context of your project’s size, complexity and organisational requirements.
Our trainers and assessors delivering BSB50820 Diploma of Project Management are fully qualified to deliver and assess nationally recognised training. Your trainer holds the mandatory requirement of Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent) and completes ongoing professional development to stay current. Many also bring university qualifications and advanced diplomas that strengthen their adult education capability and business-industry expertise. For you, that means your trainer understands how adults learn, how to assess fairly, and how to make sure your learning and assessment meets national standards—so you know you’re being supported and assessed the right way.
For the BSB50820 Diploma of Project Management, you’ll be learning with trainers who’ve delivered real projects in complex environments—turning business needs into clear requirements, bringing stakeholders together, and keeping work moving when priorities shift. They’ve worked across the full project lifecycle: planning and coordinating delivery, managing timelines and budgets, identifying and controlling risks and changes, and producing the documentation and reporting needed to keep projects accountable.

A new module becomes available every two weeks. This gives you time to work through the learning material, understand the concepts and consider how to apply what you've learned in your workplace before moving on. You'll have access to the program for 11 months, so you're not expected to complete each module within two weeks. This gives you plenty of flexibility to take additional time when needed, revisit earlier modules and work through the program around your other commitments.
